Important features:

v      During the day under low light, fog, or cloud cover or rain, wands will illuminate due to uv light coming thru the clouds. Out of the box, they absorb the suns rays.

v      If dropped, the handle will make the wands move in a circle, not slide down the ramp.

v      Constructed out of 2000 psi polycarbonate plastic which is virtually unbreakable.

v      Cockpit windows are tinted red to deflect the suns rays.  The green color of the wands, on the other side of the color spectrum, makes them very visible.

v      The wand’s green color is unique to the ramp area, allowing pilots to very easily distinguish this as a color dedicated to parking the airplanes.

v      During the nighttime ops the wands have an aura which makes them look larger than they really are.

v      Red taillights from the vehicles, headlights from all the equipment, and high intensity light on the ramps or very little lighting all hinder the pilots ability to see the marshaller and to determine which light should be followed into the gate for parking.

v      The box hangs on the jet way for easy access to the wands, goggles, and tow bar pins.

v      Marshalling pictures on front of the box help ground support people always have the emergency signs for brake fires and all other signs available review each time they use the wands.  This helps to standardize the industry by having every marshaller have the same signals to every pilot.

v      Wands will always be ready to park an airplane in any type of weather - day or night.
